Job Description:
The School of Management at Binghamton University invites applications for an Assistant Professor position in Accounting for Fall 2018, subject to budgetary approval. Responsible for conducting quality research and publish in the top-tier journals. Teaching load is a two-course/semester (fall/spring) teaching assignment.
Position:Candidates must have (or expect) a Ph.D. degree by Fall 2018. High quality research as evidenced by publication in the top-tier accounting journals is expected as well as high quality teaching in the classroom. Candidates who offer flexibility in teaching are preferred. Service and interaction with the professional community commensurate with the rank of assistant professor are expected.
School of Management:The accounting faculty in the School of Management have a consistent record of scholarly achievement. Recent accounting faculty publications have appeared in The Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, Review of Accounting Studies, Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory, Behavioral Research in Accounting and Journal of Management Accounting Research. Research is supported with a two course per semester teaching load and subscriptions to WRDS and other standard databases. The School of Management at Binghamton University and the Accounting Program have received separate AACSB accreditations. The Accounting Program has an excellent placement record of graduates in Big 4 accounting firms, and receives strong support from alumni.
